Trouble Makers Interview Series – Aurore
All music moves you from the inside but rarely this much. There is so much energy; melodies and rythms take mind and body on a journey and make you feel euphoric in the best of ways.
I first discovered you like so many people through the video at the Christmas Market in Strabourg. I recognized the Cathedral and was curious about this violin player in my city so I clicked to watch the video. I was instantly captivated by the music! I was really blown away and the melody touched my soul very deeply, like it was speaking directly to the deepest part of it. All music moves you from the inside but rarely this much. Right away I felt it had something very special. Two weeks later I came to see you at a concert in Strasbourg and seeing you at a live performance was even better. There is so much energy; melodies and rythms take mind and body on a journey and make you feel euphoric in the best of ways.
Never give up, find different solutions and just move forward!
The theme of Lose Your Ties resonates so much with my personal story. During my childhood, teenage years and also in my young adulthood, I have faced so many difficulties with my life beacuse I was not fitting into the system. I failed many times because I was’nt able to follow the demands of social conventions. It was complicated to try and find a way to go forward without losing myself. How to chase my own dreams and stay true to myself, stay who I am, without giving up to those social conventions that weren’t suiting me, and that I was not able to accept. It is still complicated today, but the struggles that I have been through have taught me to never give up, find different solutions and just move forward.
If you need a moment to rest, do it!
The key for me has been to never give up. And so this is also my principal advice I would give to someone struggling with a situation. There are moments when you feel that strength and courage have left you. In the darkest time, you even feel like hope has left you. This is the moment when you have to tell yourself « Don’t give up ». Don’t give up to anything or to anyone. If you need a moment to rest, do it. Then you’ll find you have strenght to rise again and find your own solution to press the restart button. And it can also seem so scary. We have to fight our fears, we can’t let them decide for us what we will do with our life.
Inspiration appears when you meet with something or somone that fascinates you.
I am working in the perischolar service in an elementary school, which means I’m taking care of the kids for lunch and after their classtime. Next to this, I’m working on the project to open my own company and to create and taylor clothing.
I find inspiration in many places. But I know there are two major topics of inspiration when I draw. One is coming from my geek side and I’m always looking carefully at costumes when I go to see a movie, when I play a videogame, when I read comic books, etc. Those fantastic universes have no limits and can totally break with normality and social conventions. Because of that, you can always have a different point of view when you try to draw something original. The other source of inspiration, and this one came from my earth-loving personnality, is Mother Nature (so cliché – laugh-). It’s a neverending source of inspiration : colors, shapes, textures, Nature is so beautiful, it always gives you everything that you need.
For me inspiration appears when you meet with something or somone that fascinates you.
You start to look for what has pleased you in that source of inspiration, and try to pass on that special sparkle that has been able to captivate your attention.
